Terms of Service

1. Who this is for

tinytools is a discovery and hosting layer for small, self-contained web tools. By using the site or submitting content, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

2. Accounts

We use GitHub OAuth for sign-in. We store your GitHub ID, display name, and avatar URL. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and how long we keep it.

3. Your content

When you submit a tool (HTML, a project bundle, an external URL, a screenshot, a description, a pitch deck link, comments, or anything else), you warrant that:
  • You own or have the right to distribute what you're submitting.
  • Your submission doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
  • Your submission doesn't contain malware, phishing pages, credential harvesters, crypto miners, or anything illegal.
  • You grant tinytools a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, sandbox, proxy, and distribute your submission for the purpose of operating the service.

4. Our right to moderate

We review every submission before it goes live. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or take down any content for any reason — including content that is legal but incompatible with the platform's goals (e.g. spammy, low-quality, or off-topic). If your tool is removed and you disagree, contact us through the Report mechanism.

5. Sandbox and security

All embedded tools run inside a cross-origin sandboxed iframe with script execution but no access to tinytools.app cookies or storage. Despite this, you should never enter passwords, payment info, or personally-identifying information into an embedded tool. We display a persistent warning banner above every frame.

6. Tip jars and payments

Tip jar links point at third-party platforms (Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, GitHub Sponsors, Patreon, PayPal, Stripe) that creators own. Any money you send goes directly to the creator. We take 0%.

7. Pro tier and billing

The optional Pro subscription is billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your profile — access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods. Billing disputes must be raised within 30 days of the charge by emailing us.

8. Third-party services

tinytools uses the following third-party services to operate. Each service's own terms and privacy policy apply to your interaction with them.

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery
  • Anthropic Claude — AI-assisted category suggestion and submission triage
  • Voyage AI — semantic search embeddings (tool metadata only, no personal data)
  • thum.io — auto-screenshot generation from submitted URLs
  • Stripe — payment processing for the Pro tier
  • GitHub / Google — OAuth authentication
  • Google Fonts — font delivery (Inter, JetBrains Mono, Material Symbols)
  • Discord — admin submission notifications (tool title + creator name only)

9. AI-assisted features

The submit form has an optional “Suggest with AI” button that sends your tool title and description to Anthropic's Claude API for category classification. Submissions are also scored by Claude for moderation risk (1–5 scale). Low-risk tools are auto-approved; higher-risk tools go to human review. If you don't want data sent to Anthropic, don't click the AI button — but the moderation triage happens automatically on all submissions.

10. Disclaimer

tinytools and its content are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Embedded tools are authored and maintained by third parties. We don't guarantee that any tool works, is safe, is accurate, or will remain available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for anything that happens inside an embedded tool.

11. Takedown / DMCA

To report copyright infringement or other abuse, use the Report button on any tool page, or email clementine.pouille@yahoo.com. Please include: the URL of the tool, a description of the infringed right, and your contact details.

We acknowledge valid takedown requests within 48 hours and remove infringing content within 72 hours. Counter-notices are accepted under 17 USC 512(g) — if no court action follows within 10 business days, the content may be restored. Repeat infringers (3 or more valid takedowns) will have their account suspended.

Our full DMCA procedure is documented at /dmca.

12. Acceptable use

You may not submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit (NSFW), violent, or that targets minors. You may not submit cryptocurrency miners, credential harvesters, phishing pages, or anything that exists primarily to abuse a third party. We remove content that violates this section without notice.

13. Events and hackathons

When you submit a tool to a tinytools-hosted event (hackathon, demo day, etc.):

  • You keep your IP. You retain full ownership of everything you build. Submitting to an event does not transfer any intellectual property rights.
  • You grant us a display license. You give tinytools a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, feature, and screenshot your submission on the event page, leaderboard, and in platform marketing.
  • The event organizer gets a limited license. The organizer may use your submission title, description, and screenshot for event marketing (social posts, recap articles, sponsor reports) but may not redistribute your source code or use your tool commercially without your consent.
  • Prizes. Prize fulfilment is the sole responsibility of the event organizer. tinytools does not guarantee prizes, is not liable for prize disputes, and does not mediate between organizers and participants.
  • Judging. Results are determined by the event organizer and/or judges. Judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal through tinytools.

Event organizers agree to indemnify tinytools against any claims arising from their event, including prize disputes, eligibility challenges, and participant complaints.

14. Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.

15. Account deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile page. Deletion cascades through every table (tools, comments, upvotes, lists, follows, scores, event memberships) and removes the storage blobs of any tools you uploaded. Some entries may persist for up to 7 days in operational backups, after which they are permanently overwritten.

16. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established. Any dispute will be resolved by a court with jurisdiction in that location. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights under your local law.

17. Contact

Questions about these terms? Email clementine.pouille@yahoo.com.

18. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the new terms. Material changes will be flagged in-product before they take effect.
